Back to school

How awful. The new semester has started. I've got a crap-load of readings that are pleading to be picked up and thumbed through. There are notes floating around cyberspace and I have yet to print them. I've even sent in my very first piece of work to my lecturer. Looks like tutorials don't have to begin proper for my life to be miserable huh.

It's only week 2. Where's my enthusiasm? Where, where?! I was all revved up and ready to be a model student this semester k. I was dying to get into my intellectual groove. But it seems like my zeal for intellectual pursuits has er ... waned (actually it's more like, all but disappeared, haha!).

Anyway, I've finally gotten my modules settled. Congrats to me, I even managed to get a place in this module that I appealed for. Ah, this is proof that the little appeal button on the CORS webpage is not just for show, it actually works. However, it should be seriously noted that appeals may leave you bankrupt. So now, I hereby announce that i'm officially filing for bankruptcy. The points in my account have been totally wiped out. Zero points, nada, zero, zilch ... you get the drift. At least it's not a negative value.

Sad to say, my pockets are facing the same problem too - getting very empty. Textbooks cost a freakin' bomb! Why do I pay so much for something I don't even wanna read? Blargh. To top it off, the the book shop is packed to the brim with eager-beaver students, the queues are snaking, inventory is down so the textbook you're left with is an extremely over-priced hard-cover version and the shop assistant is so damn bored that he starts replying you in a smart-alecky way, thinking that he's being witty (but of course in your opinion, he's just being incredibly annoying).

Welcome to the new uni semester.
